Attorney Paul Bernstein

Paul Bernstein, Attorney-at-Law

Paul Bernstein is a Massachusetts attorney who believes in helping families, individuals, and businesses preserve a lasting legacy through highly personalized and comprehensive plans.  Paul has been a resource for hundreds of families and businesses who seek to plan for and protect that which is most important to them.

Paul is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, having been admitted to the bar in 1992.  He has been admitted as a member of the Bar of the State of Pennsylvania and is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court and the United States District Court.  A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Attorney Bernstein earned a BA degree in Political Science followed by a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

 Attorney Bernstein is a Founding Member of Wealth Counsel, a national collaboration of estate planning attorneys; Founder and Chairman of the Massachusetts Forum of Estate Planning Attorneys; member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys; a member of the Board of Directors of the Essex County Estate Planning Council; and a member of the National Association of Trusts and Estates Professionals. He maintains his professional membership in the American Bar Association, where he is a member of the Asset Protection Committee of the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section.  Paul has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Massachusetts School of Law.

Paul is a frequent lecturer and educator, annually teaching over 1,000 attorneys, CPAs and financial professionals through numerous continuing education organizations.  He has also spoken to private groups across the country on various topics, including family protection planning, wealth preservation, and elder law.  Additionally, Paul has been a guest speaker for a variety of in-house and public seminars for financial institutions such as Bank of America, Lincoln Financial Group, and Ameriprise.  Paul is committed to his own continuing education in advanced estate and business planning to ensure that the firm’s clients are receiving the most sophisticated planning techniques.

Paul maintains the highest standard of client service.  He listens closely to his clients’ goals and concerns, and then works with them to develop plans that are unique to their particular situation.  Paul believes in helping his clients understand that planning is not just about saving tax dollars.  Rather, he shows them that the value of planning for the future is also an appreciation of themselves and their loved ones.

The Bernstein Law Group, P.C., represents clients in the North Shore and surrounding communities in Massachusetts, including Marblehead, Salem, Woburn, Concord, Chelsea, Winthrop, Medford, Melrose, Malden, Wakefield, Everett, Revere, Lynn, Lynnfield, Peabody, Danvers, Cambridge, Beverly, Saugus, Somerville, Boston, and in the following counties: Essex County, Suffolk County and Middlesex County.

Cynthia G. Picariello, Client Services Director

Cynthia joined the Bernstein Law Group in 2004.  She received her paralegal certificate from Marian Court College and is a Notary Public.  Cynthia is a member of both the Massachusetts Paralegal Association and National Federation of Paralegal Associations.   At the Bernstein Law Group, Cynthia has continued to develop her expertise in estate planning and trust & probate administration. 

In addition, Cynthia provides the firm’s attorneys with experience, knowledgeable support, and professional service that have set the Bernstein Law Group above the rest.  Cynthia has experience with administering simple to substantive estates, as well as various trust products ranging from revocable trusts to more complex trusts.  

As the firm’s Client Services Director, Cynthia serves as the primary liaison with clients and their families.  She treats every client like she would her own family members.

Grace C. Bernstein, Director of Marketing Services

Grace works with the firm to help improve and strengthen its marketing and business development processes, improve its visibility, and enhance its relationship with the community. In addition, she helps to provide a variety of workshops and training programs focused on improving the overall client experience, as well as coordinates the firm’s Life’sWork Protection Plan Membership Program. Having begun her career in healthcare, she joined the Bernstein Law Group in 2005. This experience supports her work in helping the firm’s attorneys achieve their objectives with clients and fellow professionals.
